For a good preview of tonight's game check out the vipersdiehardfan blog as the Smokies prepare to host Vernon tonight at 7:30, here's some audio from yesterday's game. Just quickly (I'm pressed for time) I wanted to mention that I thought Trail played a terrific game last night. The difference was simply that the Smokies had three pretty major defensive break downs on a night where the rest of the evening was almost a perfect game on their part. That's how it goes when you're in a funk. You can play that well and find a way to lose games instead of finding a way to win games when you aren't at your best. Trail proved last night that they can hang in with and even outplay Westside (a potential first round opponent) but that this young team absolutely has to find a way to eliminate the major defensive blunders that can turn a game's momentum completely around.
Learn how to finish a team... and watch out. These guys weren't ranked 11th in the country at one point because they don't have enough talent. They just have to get the mental game together again. Tonight against the Vipers is as good of an opportunity to do that as any.
