Game Day: Vernon at Trail

Tonight is the fifth game of the season series between the two teams. The Vipers have dominated it so far. However, both teams are coming into the game on a two game losing streak. Trail fell 4-2 to Penticton last Sunday and 5-2 to Salmon Arm last night. Vernon fell 2-1 to Westside last weekend and 4-1 to Penticton last night. For another look at tonight's game check out the vipersdiehardfan blog.

September 18: Vernon 7 at Trail 1
September 19: Trail 1 at Vernon 5
November 13: Trail 4 at Vernon 8
November 14: Trail 1 at Vernon 7

Vernon has outscored Trail 27-7 in a lopsided season series. However, a couple of those games were a lot closer than the score indicates through 40 minutes. The Vipers have been able to take advantage of Trail let downs to extend their leads. Otherwise there has been some even and entertaining play during periods of the series. The Smoke Eaters are also playing better hockey of late with 4 wins in their last 7 games. Also, the line of the Jones twins and Cory Kane has killed Trail this year. Word is that Kellen Jones has a broken jaw and that line will be a man short tonight.
